A successful launch requires dozens of details to be right. Missing even one — a payment gateway misconfiguration, a broken checkout, or an SEO mistake — can cost you sales from day one. Our development team uses this checklist on every client launch.

Products and Catalogue (1-15)

  1. All products have titles, descriptions, and images
  2. Product descriptions are unique and benefit-focused
  3. All images are optimised (WebP, compressed, proper dimensions)
  4. Alt text written for all product images
  5. Product variants set up correctly (size, colour, etc.)
  6. Pricing is correct including any tax configuration
  7. Inventory tracking enabled and stock levels accurate
  8. SKU numbers assigned to all products/variants
  9. Collections created and products properly categorised
  10. Product weight set for shipping calculation
  11. Metafields populated for any custom data
  12. Product SEO fields completed (title, description, URL)
  13. Related products and cross-sells configured
  14. Product reviews system installed and tested
  15. Out-of-stock behaviour configured (hide or show with notification)

Design and Theme (16-30)

  1. Theme tested across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  2. Mobile responsiveness verified on real devices
  3. All pages load under 3 seconds on mobile
  4. Navigation menus complete and logical
  5. Footer links working (privacy policy, terms, contact, etc.)
  6. Logo displays correctly at all breakpoints
  7. Favicon uploaded and displaying
  8. 404 page customised with helpful content
  9. Forms tested (contact, newsletter signup)
  10. Social media links pointing to correct profiles
  11. Brand colours consistent across all pages
  12. Typography readable on all devices
  13. Hero images and banners sized correctly
  14. Accessibility tested (keyboard navigation, contrast, alt text)
  15. Print styles or PDF generation tested if applicable

Checkout and Payments (31-45)

  1. Payment gateway configured and tested with real transaction
  2. Test orders placed and refunded successfully
  3. Guest checkout enabled
  4. Express checkout options active (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay)
  5. Shipping rates configured for all delivery zones
  6. Tax settings correct for all selling regions
  7. Discount codes tested (percentage, fixed amount, free shipping)
  8. Order confirmation emails sending correctly
  9. Shipping notification emails configured
  10. Abandoned cart recovery emails set up and tested
  11. Return and refund policy linked from checkout
  12. Terms of service checkbox working if required
  13. Currency display correct for target markets
  14. Fraud analysis reviewed for initial orders
  15. Auto-capture vs manual capture decision made

SEO and Analytics (46-60)

  1. Google Analytics 4 installed with ecommerce tracking
  2. Google Search Console verified and sitemap submitted
  3. Meta Pixel installed and events firing correctly
  4. Google Ads conversion tracking configured
  5. All page titles unique and under 60 characters
  6. Meta descriptions unique and under 155 characters
  7. URL slugs clean and keyword-optimised
  8. Structured data (Product, Organization) validated
  9. Canonical tags properly configured
  10. 301 redirects in place for any migrated URLs
  11. Robots.txt reviewed — not blocking important pages
  12. Image alt text complete across all pages
